Additional clusters are automatically spun up if a query is queued -There is no tuning that needs to be done as this is a data warehouse as a service. No other database comes close to the Snowflake performance without additional tuning. I can put in some time and tune my Oracle, Teradata or HANA database to get similar or slightly better performance but the level of DBA needed to do this is costly. This is especially helpful when the query patterns to be run against the database are unknown.
